Mexico Spay/Neuter Initiative 2024
On May 4th and 5th, Lisa once again participated in a large spay and neuter campaign on her annual volunteer trip to Cozumel, Mexico. Kan Cozumel is a non-profit organization based in Cozumel, with the goal of helping the overpopulation of the dogs and cats on this beautiful island. The 2024 campaign was based in a low income area with many dogs and cats roaming the streets. Through generous donations from their community, and ours, Kan Cozumel was able to provide free spay and neuter procedures to 280 dogs and cats during the 2 day campaign. The event had 9 surgeons and 45 other volunteers who worked in stations such as pre-op, prep and recovery. Lisa was one of only 2 international volunteers who travelled to the island for this campaign. Some of you may recognize the second international volunteer, Jenn, as a KMVH staff alumni!
A huge thank you to everyone who supports Lisa and her fundraising efforts year round!
